FULHAM have swooped to sign former Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra .

The Mali international has been without a club since leaving Monaco in the summer, but has agreed a contract until the end of the season with an option of a further year.

Diarra, 30, had spells with OFI Crete and Dutch side Vitesse before moving on to Lyon and then Real, where he played under ex-England boss Fabio Capello.

The deal is subject to a successful visa application.
