ANDY Frampton is poised to join AFC Wimbledon after leaving last season’s League 2 champions Gillingham.

The 33-year-old is out of contract this summer following a two-year stint at Priestfield.

Gills manager Martin Allen wanted to keep hold of the defender but the two parties have been unable to reach an agreement on a new deal.

Former Brentford and Millwall star Frampton, who made 32 appearances last term, is understood to have requested a two-year deal.

Gillingham are not prepared to commit to a contract of that length and Dons boss Neal Ardley is understood to have stepped in to snare the full-back.
