Nicky Forster admitted he had no complaints after Brentford were comprehensively beaten 3-0 at Hartlepool.

Ironically, after going six games unbeaten as interim Brentford manager, defeat came in Forster's first game since being handed the job until the end of the season.

Two goals from Andy Monkhouse and a Gary Liddle strike made for a long journey home for the 136 travelling fans.

Forster said: “We were beaten fair and square. The players are disappointed, but they have been brilliant over the last six games.

It had to happen at some point (losing). Hartlepool played to their strengths, they are a strong and physical side, but they also beat us in their individual battles.

It's about how we react to this now. Brighton on Tuesday is a big game for us, they're the best team in the league, and we have to be much better than we were today.”
