ADAM Forshaw admits Brentford came up short as they suffered play-off agony against Yeovil.

The Bees gave themselves a mountain to climb after a dismal first-half showing, with Harlee Dean's header proving just a consolation as the Glovers grabbed a place in the Championship after a 2-1 victory at Wembley.

But Forshaw hopes Uwe Rosler's men will go one better next year and push for promotion again.

He said: “We kept the ball well in the first half but didn't create many chances.

“We came out a totally different team after the break and dominated. We chances to equalise and on another day they would've went in.

“We knew the third goal was crucial. We managed to get it and after that it was game on.

“It was one-way traffic. We threw everything at them but unfortunately we couldn't find a way back.

“Hopefully we'll go one better next year. We'll be stronger for it but at the moment it hurts.”
