TWO former team-mates will be on opposite sides at Earlsmead tonight after making different decisions over their futures this summer.

Saheed Sankoh and Charles Ofusu-Hene spent loan spells at Harrow Borough last season, but while the former decided to make his move permanent the latter decided to go back to Parent club Kingstonian.

Former Fulham youngster Sankoh has been a permanent fixture in the Reds team in the first three games of the campaign, while Ofusu-Hene has made cameos from the bench, but Borough have just one point while Kingstonian will arrive at Earlsmead as the early pace-setters.

So who got it right? From Sankoh’s perspective he has no regrets about his decision to stick with Dave Anderson’s men.

He said: “I’m determined to prove Charles got it wrong, but we will see on the day.

“Every player has their situation with a manager and whatever they decide to do is up to them. He decided to go back to Ks and decided to stay.

“I spoke to Dave (Anderson) at the end of last season and he really wanted me to stay and I wanted to play more games, not be on the bench or in and out of the team.

“The gaffer told me to work hard in the off season, come back and a position would be here for me and it would be up me to grab it.”

Borough come to the game after back-to-back defeats on the road the second a 3-1 loss at 10-man Margate.

The visitors were behind in just 22 seconds when Danny Leech missed a header allowing Charles Ademeno to fire Gate ahead.

Leech atoned for his error as Borough equalised on 21 minutes, his flick header coming off home striker Phil Walsh as he attempted to clear.

Just four minutes later it should have been 2-1 when home keeper Craig Holloway brought down Simeon Akinola.

However, Shaun Lucien spurned the golden chance with a weak spot-kick comfortably saved by the keeper who escaped with just a caution.

The penalty missed Borough gained a man advantage when Ryan Dolby was given a straight red for a foul on Akinola who had been sent clear by strike partner Leroy Griffiths.

Yet far from being a spur to push on the extra man seemed like a noose around Borough’s neck as they faded after the break.

Walsh restored the hosts’ lead on 52 minutes and Borough’s fate was sealed with just under a quarter of an hour to go when Leech lost possession on the edge of the box and Zac Attwood fired into the corner.

Much better will be needed against Alan Dowson’s side this evening in the 7:45pm kick-off.
