MIKE Grella admits he could leave Brentford before the transfer window closes next week.

The former Leeds United frontman has made just one league start for the club since his switch to Griffin Park in August.

Grella has seen his chances limited in TW8, finding himself stuck behind Gary Alexander and Clayton Donaldson in the pecking order.

The American played a trial game for Crawley Town earlier this month, while League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers are also reportedly interested in the 25-year-old.

And he admits he's desperate to find first-team football – at Brentford or elsewhere.

He said: “I'm at the age now where I want to be playing regularly.

“My contract is up in May, so I might have to look elsewhere - the next four months are crucial for me.

“I have to think about my future and do what's best for my family. It could be a loan until the end of the season, but it's all up in the air at the moment.

“I don't want to close the door on anyone. I've got total respect for the manager [Uwe Rosler] and Brentford's a great club with great guys.

“But I need to be playing football. Hopefully we should know more in the next week.”
