BRENTFORD hope Emmanuel Oyeleke can force his way into the first-team squad by the end of the season.

The Bees rescued the midfielder from the footballing scrapheap after being dumped by Chelsea three years ago.

The 18-year-old youth-teamer has been a regular for the development squad this season, and made his debut for the first-team as a second-half substitute in Saturday's FA Cup defeat against Wrexham.

Director of youth development, Ose Aibangee , insists it's a great achievement for the youngster, and a testament to the hard work he's put in.

He said: “Manny's debut has highlighted the great strides the club have made in a short space of time.

“He's impressed against some quality opposition in development games, and the manager has given him his chance.

“The youth and development games have given him a platform to show what he can do, and proves that if a player is good enough there are opportunities for them here.

“His aim now has to be to try and get some more games for the first-team between now and the end of the season.”
