Flitwick 238-9 Northwood 150-9

Match ended in a draw

RAJ Latchman's five-wicket haul helped salvage Northwood a draw at Flitwick on Saturday.

Missing six regulars, Latchman's 5-71 restricted the hosts to 238-9 in 53 overs.

In reply, Northwood lost Nigel Hussey early on, but Ross Noach (41) was in good form.

However, the rest of their order showed little resistance, and it was left to Stuart Reeve at the tail to play out for a draw as Northwood limped to 150-9.

Elsewhere, Iyyaz Shariff took seven wickets as Northwood seconds had to settle for a draw against Old Owens.

Chairman Steve Lewis struck 76, supported by Andy PowellWilliams (77) and Coert Van Straaten (49), helped Northwood declare on 252-4 in 51 overs.

Shariff took 7-90 from one end, but despite taking the ninth wicket in the last over, they missed out on 30 points by failing to skittle out their opponents. Meanwhile, opener Richard Mackey was again in the runs as the fireman blazed his way to 67 for the third XI against Potton Town.

Dickson and Mike Blomberg chipped in down the order as Northwood declared on 188-7.

Town were always just behind the clock as they got close, finishing on 154-8.
