EALING Trailfinders Rugby Club has confirmed five home friendlies ahead of the opening match in the Championship against London Scottish.

The Vallis Way side take on Hartpury on Saturday, August 10, at 3pm, and Carmarthen Quins a week later, also at 3pm.

That is followed by a visit from Loughborough Students on Monday, August 19, at 7.45pm and Henley on Friday, August 30, also kicking off at the same time.

The final pre-season warm-up is against Old Albanians on Saturday, August 31, at 3pm.

Director of rugby Mike Cudmore said: “The five games will enable us to look at various combinations and by the end of the process have a clear idea as to who is ready to be in the starting line-up against London Scottish.”

That baptism in the second tier of English rugby takes place on the weekend of September 13-15 at the Allianz Park – the home of Saracens – with London Welsh taking on Bedford Blues at the same venue in a double header to launch the season.

Ealing travel to Rotherham Titans on the weekend of September 20-22 and their first match in Ealing in the Greene King IPA Championship is against Cornish Pirates on the weekend of September 27-29.
