ANTON Ferdinand has failed in his quest to be fit for Sunday's clash with Manchester United.

The QPR defender limped out of last weekend's defeat to Liverpool with a hamstring problem, but boss Neil Warnock was hopeful he could recover in time for the visit of the Premier League champions.

However, Warnock admits he will now have to do without Ferdinand for the next couple of weeks.

Fitz Hall is set to replace him in the heart of defence after he came through a reserve game with Spurs unscathed this week, while Matt Connolly is also an option after overcoming an ankle problem.

Heidar Helguson should return to the starting XI after missing the trip to Anfield, while DJ Campbell is pushing for a start after his comeback from injury.

Kieron Dyer , Paddy Kenny and Brian Murphy miss out.
