FA CUP fever has prevented Wealdstone's fringe players from becoming disgruntled and pursuing regular first team football elsewhere.

The club's progress to the first round proper, not to mention their excellent form in the Ryman Premier League, has seen a feel-good factor spread right through the club, from the players to the fans, management to the board.

Defender James Gray said: "Usually at this time of year the fringe players in the squad want to go and play somewhere else but that's not happening this time - everyone is in this together.

"It's a good squad this year and whereas before you would play football and then go and socialise with your 'real' mates here we are mates and socialise together off the pitch."
