KENTON Road Club's cyclist Carl Bond travelled to his favourite time trial course at Bentley near Alton on Saturday afternoon to race in the Farnborough and Camberley 10-mile event.

Despite a blustery head wind an unfit Carl managed a repectable time of 22.50, coming 15th in the 27-strong senior section.

The Switch Race winner was James Boyman (Agiskoviner.com) in a fast time of 20.38 (29.08 mph average).

More than 70 other competitors raced in the vets, juniors and women's section of the event.

In the Kenton 10-mile time trial championship, also last week, Des Gayler was placed first in a time of 22.39.

In second spot was Carl Bond in 23.24.

Several other members failed to start due to work commitments, illness or being away on holiday, including Brendan Heaslip, John Markham and Duncan Smith.

Meanwhile racing in the LVRC 30-mile event at Hillingdon, Kenton racers, brothers Des and Dave Gayler and John Knight, finish comfortably in the main field.
