DAN Spence says he has seen enough already to suggest that Hayes and Yeading can survive relegation this season.

The ex-Mansfield right-back, who was signed by boss Nas Bashir two weeks ago, was on a losing side for the first time since joining Hayes and Yeading in Sunday's defeat to Wrexham.

But Hayes and Yeading bounced back with an impressive 2-0 win over Forest Green and Spence believes that his new club are capable of rising up the Blue Square Premier table.

"Our passing is really good and if we can erradicate the silly mistakes then we can really push up the table," he said "I have really enjoyed it here since I signed as we play good football."

Spence's friendship with Louie Soares and Ryan Crockford played a part in his move as he played against them as a kid for Prospect Colts in the Reading youth leagues.

"I knew Louie and Ryan from the Reading area when they were playing for different teams against me back then," he added. "They helped me settle in and introduced me to all the lads here.

"I finished last season at Mansfield, but I did not get another contract so I moved back down here. This season I had been on trials with different clubs, but I spoke to Nas and he asked me to come down for training. I did well and then it just went from there really."
