JAMIE Hand is set to plead guilty to an FA misconduct charge over comments he made on Twitter.

The Hayes & Yeading captain has until 4pm on Friday to respond to the charge made after Hand’s comments in the wake of United’s defeat at his former club Luton earlier this month.

But the Gazette understands Hand will plead guilty and accept whatever punishment the FA imposes on him without making any appeal.

A spokesman for the FA said: "We have charged Jamie Hand with regards to an incident of misconduct relating to Twitter.

"The player has until 4pm on April 20 to respond."

The news comes after United edged closer to relegation to the Blue Square South last night as results left them on the brink of a return to the Blue Square South.

Although mathematically still not doomed, Nas Bashir’s side must win their last two games, pray Newport lose their next three and hope for a seemingly impossible 23-goal swing.
