Ex-Crawley Town star returns in double swoop for United

CHARLIE Wassmer and Jake Reid have completed their moves to Hayes & Yeading.

United manager Phil Babb has been tracking the duo for some time and the Gazette exclusively revealed a deal was close last week .

Former Newport and Telford striker Reid scored a hat-trick on his debut against Slough Town.

Wassmer will be making a return to United following a two-year exodus when he was snapped up by Crawley Town.

The 22-year-old defender has also had spells on loan at Fleetwood and Dagenham & Redbridge and spent the second half of last season at Cambridge.

Reid and Wassmer could feature in tomorrow night’s pre-season friendly with Burnham.
