STEFAN Cox and Tom Bird are set to sign for Hayes & Yeading United.
The duo are close to agreeing deals with the Blue Square South club and could complete the formalities in the next 24 hours.
They would be new manager Phil Babb’s (pictured) second and third signings of the summer following the acquisition of Szymon Sidorowicz.
Bird, like Sidorowicz, ended last season under Alan Dowson at Ryman Premier outfit Kingstonian.
The 24-year-old attacking full-back started his career at Basingstoke Town and enjoyed a brief stint with the Chelsea youth team.
He earned the Blues stint following a series of successful appearances on Sky One’s Football Icon television show.
Cox is a winger who can play on either flank and lists Fleetwood among his list of former clubs.
He signed for Hyde in July 2012 but his contract was terminated by mutual consent in February.
