ADAM Forshaw will consider his job done at Brentford if he becomes as popular with the Griffin Park faithful as Jake Bidwell is.

The Everton midfielder followed Bidwell's path from Goodison Park to TW8 last week when he joined his Toffees team-mate in penning a loan spell with the Bees.

Bidwell has become a firm favourite at left back in his three months with Brentford, and midfielder Forshaw, who made his debut as a sub in Saturday's goalless draw at Scunthorpe, aims to follow suit.

He said: “Everything Jake has said about this club has been positive, and he is loving it here. When he first came in he was in and out of the side, but he is made up now.

“You can tell by the reaction from the fans that they have really taken to Jake, and I hope to do so to. I needed to get out on loan and play some games, so this is perfect for me.

“I like to play and pass and maybe get a few goals too, but I'm easy about where I play. I'm quite versatile, but if I had to pick a favourite position it would be in the hole behind the strikers.”

Forshaw had barely been in London for 48 hours before he was setting out back up north to Glanford Park, and he readily admits it was a hectic week.

He added: “I know there was some interest a few months back, and I was told the move was on when I was playing a reserve game against Liverpool last Tuesday. By Wednesday night I was in London I wasn't too sure what was going on really.

I t was a bit frantic debut too, but I was up against men who are a bit stronger and wiser. The lads here have been great though, and I am feeling settled already, so I'd be happy to extend my stay here if it goes well.”
