HOGAN Ephraim's first goal since September – only his third of the season – was enough to give Rangers the points at Doncaster.
But the afternoon was dominated by speculation about the man he replaced in the starting line-up. Adel Taarabt was officially ill and did not even appear on the bench.
Without him, the Rs often struggled to find a creative spark, although they started well enough, with Clint Hill heading against the crossbar early on and Heidar Helguson also striking woodwork, while Tommy Smith forced keeper Gary Woods in a good save.
But Ephraim (pictured) set Rangers on their way two minutes into the second half, when, receiving a pass from Wayne Routledge, he beat his marker and cut inside to bury a curling shot.
