A BOY from Eastcote beat the odds and a succession of opponents to win the U12 title at the David Lloyd National Tennis Championships.

Kyle Stocker emerged victorious from 15,000 children who entered the competition across three age groups, winning through to the final at Raynes Park.

The seven-year-old, who attends Newham Junior School in Eastcote, then defeated Scotland's Robbie Croll 10-7 in a quickfire, best of 19 points title decider.

Stocker, who has been playing the sport for three years at Excel-Pro Tennis Club where he is coached by Glen Norman, received his trophy from British number one and US Open runner-up Andy Murray. And the family talent does not stop there because Stocker's older sister, Sabrina, won the Middlesex U12 title last year.
