EASTCOTE Hockey Club, who play at Kings College Playing Fields, Ruislip, are preparing for the new season with the traditional Club Day Tournament on Saturday, when six mixed teams from within the club play throughout the day, followed by presentations and a BBQ.

Potential new members of either sex, from 10 to 70+ and of any ability are welcome to come along and get involved.

Sunday sees the start of colts coaching on Sunday mornings starting at 9.30am, when girls and boys are coached in groups at, under six, under eight, under 11, under 14 and under 16. Any youngsters who would like to learn to play are welcome to attend.

Both ladies and men's 1st XI training is already in full swing as the club mount a concerted effort to progress to the top level in the South in their quest for ultimate National League status.

The club fields 16 Saturday league sides, eight junior teams, men's and ladies veterans and a mixed team, and is one of the largest clubs in the country going in to the new season.

The men's 1st XI are coached by Adam (Chunky) Mulholland who has retained key players in the 18 to 22 age bracket following the successful summer academy course he mounted for the club's top level young male and female players.

The men will run 11 sides this season. The ladies have appointed new coach Uzair (Ozzie) Pandor to coach their first-team, and will run five teams this season.
