THREE young members of Ealing Canoe Club have been selected to represent the boroughs of Ealing and Harrow at the London Youth Games on Saturday at the Royal Albert Docks.

Josh Billson, Liam Nixon and Ruchi Sikka will be competing in the kayak sprint events.

Billson, in the older age group, will be racing over 200m and 500m in the Cirrus class, while Nixon and Sikka will race over 200m and 500m in 'Lightning' kayaks, which is a one class boat used nationally for juniors.

All three youngsters race for Ealing Canoe Club in national competitions, with Billson recently winning a major marathon event at Reading two weeks ago.

At the same event, Nixon won the U12s Lightning race and the U12s Hody doubles event with Reef Hook, another Ealing paddler.

They are all ranked in national competitions and the Ealing 'Lightning' paddlers are currently in 13th place from 41 clubs nationally and are the top London club.
