GAVIN Massey and Joe Benjamin are expected to return to action for Wealdstone’s home game with Folkestone on Saturday.

Massey, the loanee from Watford, missed Saturday’s 1-0 win at Aveley with a tight hamstring, while Benjamin has sat out the last two matches with a quad problem, leaving boss Gordon Bartlett short of options up front.

However, Bartlett is optimistic both will re-enter the fray for the vital clash with the Kent strugglers.

He said: "The good news is Gavin and Joe will be in contention. Joe texted me and said he’d been out for a run and would be at training on Thursday and Gavin looks as though he is going to be okay, which gives me options up front, and that’s important, especially for a home game."

However, as one Massey returns, the other Alan, will be playing his last game before a two-match ban, making it all the more important Wes Parker shakes off his foot injury.

The central defender told fans on his Twitter account he thought his toe might be broken, but Bartlett thinks the ex-Grimsby man will play through the pain barrier.

"He played with it Saturday and I’ll be surprised if he’s not out there again this week."

Stones will be looking to extend their run of 11 games without defeat - which amazingly still sees them in the bottom half of the table, but on the fringes of the play-off battle.

"I’m quite happy with where we are, added Bartlett. "If we keep drawing the others in slowly we’ve got every chance.

"There’s still 27 points to play for and it is wide open."
