HARROW AC starlet Sky Draper took the triathlon world by storm on Sunday despite being the youngest competitor in her event.

Aged just 13, she beat a race field that included National Youth Duathlon Champion Maddy Winzer, 15, at the Mazda Blenheim Triathlon at Blenheim Palace.

Draper led throughout, steadily increasing her lead during the three disciplines of swim, cycle and run. The delighted teenager said later: "It's probably my biggest win to date.

"It wasn't raining when we raced and the water was surprisingly warm. I managed to be first out of the swim and was then able to lead the whole way."

Holding a 30-second lead after the 400m swim, Draper powered along the 13.2km ride around the palace grounds, increasing her advantage to more than two minutes.

The teenager who recently won her third London Mini-Marathon title got further ahead during the 2.5km run.

She finished two-and-a-half minutes clear of Winzer and qualifies for the London Super-Sprint Triathlon on August 1.
