RYMAN PREMIER LEAGUE Lowestoft 2 Wealdstone 1

WEALDSTONE'S 15-match unbeaten run came to an end after a dramatic finish at title chasers Lowestoft on Saturday.

Trailing 2-1 deep into stoppage-time Stones appeared destined to snatch a precious point when substitute Scott Fitzgerald's shot was fumbled by Andy Reynolds, leaving what looked to be a tap in for leading scorer Richard Jolly - who had also come off the bench after surprisingly being omitted from the starting line-up by Gordon Bartlett.

However, Reynolds atoned for his error by getting up from the deck to somehow block Jolly's effort to safety and the points were lost, leaving a dent in their playoff prospects.

Stones survived an early scare when Greg Crane's header was deflected wide by his own team-mate Chris Henderson.
However, the visitors grabbed the lead on 22 minutes when Britt Assombalonga sprung the offside trap and cut inside before firing his shot inside Reynolds' near post.

Jonathan North's excellent stop from Robert Eagle kept Stones in front before Chris O'Leary came within inches of making it 2-0 before half time.
The Trawlerboys levelled five minutes after the interval when Joe Francis charged down Dominic Sterling's attempted clearance and when the ball fell to Henderson on the edge of the box he made no mistake.

The turnaround was complete just before the hour when David Hicks was adjudged to have fouled Lubomir Guentchev, despite Stones' appeals for a handball in the build-up, leaving Francis to stroke home the spot-kick.
