LONDON'S first T20 Cricket Competition will see 12 boroughs competing for the £11,000 first prize when play finally gets underway on Sunday.

The idea is basically Twenty20 cricket for local teams - but a very lucrative one - with a grand final in August making the winners that much richer after winning an earlier franchise to represent their area.

The round-robin league format has the 12 sides split into groups of four at three different venues - with two games played by each side on any one day.

This Sunday, BRENT, Hackney, City of London and Barking & Dagenham go head-to-head at Waltham Forest.

At Barnet, HARROW take on EALING, Redbridge and Barnet, while in the south, CITY OF WESTMINSTER, Greenwich, KENSINGTON & CHELSEA and HAMMERSMITH & FULHAM hope to get off to a winning start at Wandsworth Common.
