UWE Rosler has revealed midfielder Jonathan Douglas is playing through the pain barrier to help Brentford's promotion charge.
Last night's crucial 2-0 win at Crewe moved the Bees up to third in the table, just two points behind second-placed Bournemouth, with a game in hand on their rivals.
Douglas has featured 48 times for Brentford this season, but has been struggling with a knock in recent weeks.
And boss Rosler has paid tribute to the Irishman's commitment as their promotion bid gathers pace.
He said: “Jonathan Douglas was playing with a knock but the performance he put in was fantastic.
“He's had a knock for a while now but he lives and breathes to be available for us.
“He is our leader and played fantastic once again. It's vital we had Jonathan on the pitch for us and I take my hat off to him."
