Five members of the Harefield Gymnastics Academy made a difficult trip to the West country worthwhile as two new partnerships returned with silver medals.
The grade one women's group of Charlotte Williams, Leah Evans and Ellis Jacobson and grade two men's pair, Ryan Bartlett and Samuel Jarrett, braved blizzards and 10 inches of snow to compete at the Bristol inter-club competition.
Acrobatic gymnastics clubs from across the country attended the popular National Development Plan competition, with South Tyneside, Wakefield and Spelthorne all represented.
Bartlett and Jarrett completed a clean routine and scored 25.883 points to claim second place. They have now set their sights on gold at their next competition.
Williams, Evans and Jacobson performed together for the first time, with Williams making her club debut, and they achieved a respectable 26.350, grabbing the runners-up spot and showing their potential for the future.
Harefield's potential elite squad coaches, Keri Llewellyn and Sarah Robertson, are working hard with the partnerships to improve their scores ahead of the London round of the National Preliminaries, which take place on March 15.
On Saturday the club's junior and senior elite squads travel to Bristol for the first international competition of the year.
