AFC Wimbledon will make a decision on Rhys Weston's future after the weekend.

The former Arsenal and Cardiff City defender has been training with the Dons for the past few weeks.

Boss Neal Ardley will give the versatile 32-year-old another chance to stake a claim on Saturday before deciding whether to include him on the pre-season trip to Italy.

He said: “We're taking our time with it. Rhys knew it would be a long process until the end of the pre-season campaign.

“He wasn't originally down for the Italy trip but there might be a space if a member of staff drops out.

“We'll have a look at him on Saturday and see where we go.”
