NEAL Ardley plans further talks with AFC Wimbledon youngsters Huw Johnson and Frankie Merrifield over their Kingsmeadow futures.

The Dons duo were restricted to bit-part roles in their first season as professionals, with neither player featuring in 2013.

Johnson played 11 times this campaign, while Merrifield made six appearances, scoring in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Southend last October, before spending time out on loan at Harrow Borough.

The pair are still under contract for another 12 months, and boss Ardley must decide whether they figure in his plans for the forthcoming season.

He said: “We've had initial conversations with them and plan another meeting to see what's best for everyone.”
