AFC Wimbledon have been linked with a move for Rotherham United defender Ryan Cresswell .

Dons boss Terry Brown is desperate to bolster his backline following the departures of Jamie Stuart, Brett Johnson and Fraser Franks.

Brown has targeted two new centre-halves, with Gary Doherty and Cresswell believed to be on the radar.

Reports in Sheffield suggest the 24-year-old has been given permission to speak to the Dons, who face competition from League Two rivals Oxford and Southend for his signature.

Cresswell has made 43 appearances for the Millers, scoring eight goals, since signing a three-year deal with the club in 2010.
