AFC Wimbledon have completed the signing of former Bournemouth defender Warren Cummings .

The experienced left-back made more than 300 appearances for the Cherries before being shown the door last month after 10 seasons at Dean Court.

Dons boss Terry Brown made an enquiry about Sam Wood, only to be priced out of a move for the ex-Brentford defender.

But the Kingsmeadow chief has finally filled the void left by the departures of Gareth Gwillim and Chris Bush after 31-year-old Cummings' arrival.

He told the official site: "Warren is a major capture for us at left-back

"His track record is fantastic and he has had numerous offers from other clubs, but I am very pleased that Warren has decided to join us.

“We have done all our homework on him, including speaking to our former player Steven Gregory, who played with him at Bournemouth, and his previous managers.

“Everyone spoke really highly of him. He is very technically gifted and has a sweet left foot and he is used to playing our passing style of football at Bournemouth.

"He has experience of winning promotion at Bournemouth and Warren will also be a real character for us in and around the club.

“He is a Scottish boy, who is full of life, and we need his sort of senior presence in the dressing room. He is a winner and we have also brought him in for that reason."
