RECORD signing Byron Harrison believes he can justify his price tag at AFC Wimbledon next season.

Harrison has struggled to find his feet at Kingsmeadow after joining the club from Stevenage Borough in January.

The 24-year-old has pulled on the blue shirt 19 times since then but has only found the back of the net twice for the Dons.

However, Harrison was on target in a 3-1 final-day victory over Shrewsbury Town and believes he can pick up where he left off when the new season kicks-off.

“From a personal point of view it was good to get the goal and hopefully I can kick on and score a lot more next season,” he said.

“I didn’t want to finish the season on a low. I’ll be looking to go away, refresh my mind and body and come back.

“When you come into a club in mid-season you don’t know how it’s going to go. It hasn’t gone fantastically well but I’m big enough to take that.

“Obviously, the plan was to hit the ground running. When that didn’t happen, I probably struggled a little bit. I’ve shown towards the end of the season the player that I can be.”
