NEAL Ardley admits it will be 'difficult' to sign Bournemouth midfielder Jon Meades on a permanent basis.

The former Cardiff City youngster made 26 appearances during a successful loan spell at Kingsmeadow as the Dons escaped the League Two drop on the final day of the season.

Ardley told the Chronicle earlier this month that he wanted to keep the Welshman at the club.

However, the 21-year-old looks set to snub a permanent move to KT1 after an 'unbelievable' offer elsewhere.

“If you have players who do well for you then they attract attention,” said Dons boss Ardley. “Jon's one of them.

“When there are clubs out there who are willing to pay a left-back more than anyone in our whole squad, it's difficult for us to sign them.

“I get on well with him, but he doesn't owe us anything after what he did for the club last year.

“He's been made an unbelievable offer which I expect him to take.”
