Dons release midfielder

AFC Wimbledon have cancelled the contract of young midfielder Frankie Merrifield.

AFC Wimbledon have cancelled the contract of young midfielder Frankie Merrifield .

The 19-year-old made six appearances for the Dons last season, scoring in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Southend.

However, Merrifield hasn't featured since November and was shipped out on loan to Ryman Premier outfit Harrow Borough.

And boss Neal Ardley has agreed to release the youngster after holding talks over his future.
