AFC Wimbledon have rejected a six-figure bid from Rotherham United for star striker Jack Midson .

The former Oxford United frontman took his first season with the Dons by storm, smashing 20 goals to finish joint leading scorer in League Two.

Boss Terry Brown has made securing Midson's future his number one priority , but admits he faces a fight to keep his star man at the club.

Talks between the parties over a new deal are ongoing, but Rotherham have tested Wimbledon's resolve with a substantial bid for the 28-year-old.

Millers chief Steve Evans wanted to bring the striker to Crawley during his time in charge at the Broadfield, and has now renewed his interest following his switch to South Yorkshire.

League Two rivals Bristol Rovers are also keen on Midson, who wants to remain at Kingsmeadow .
