AFC WIMBLEDON have handed a trial to Hayes & Yeading United striker Tom Collins.

The 19-year-old scored eight times for United last season as the club were relegated from the Blue Square Premier.

Dons boss Terry Brown ran the rule of the forward in a game at Kingsmeadow on Thursday as he prepares to lead his side into their second season in the Football League.

Collins joined Nas Bashir’s side last summer following his release by Stevenage Borough after working his way up through the club’s centre of excellence and reserve team setup.

The United frontman was the subject of interest from Cardiff City in January but never made the move to the Championship outfit.
