AFC Wimbledon have cancelled the contract of youngster Brendan Kiernan by mutual consent.
The talented 20-year-old has featured just eight times this season, making just three sub appearances since Neal Ardley took charge in October.
And the Dons boss has decided to release the youngster with immediate effect.
He said: “Brendan has a lot of talent, but he needs to be playing and at the moment we can’t offer him that.
“So we talked about it and decided it would be best for him if he was free to join another club at the earliest opportunity.
“I want to thank him on behalf of the club and we wish him every success in his future career.”
Kiernan made a total of 20 appearances for the Dons after progressing through the youth ranks, scoring one goal.
