TERRY Brown has refused to give up on the signing of former Brentford defender Sam Wood .

The Chronicle revealed last week that Wycombe Wanderers look set to snatch the 25-year-old from under Wimbledon's noses after joining the race for his signature.

However, the Chairboys are still under a transfer embargo and can't complete any deals until it's lifted.

And Dons boss Brown plans to hold plans talks with Wood, who returned from holiday in Egypt this week, in a last-ditch attempt to persuade him to come to Kingsmeadow.

He said: “It appears difficult to compete financially but there's a lot happening.

“It's not just down to money that players have to consider.”
