NEAL Ardley has challenged his AFC Wimbledon side to show a reaction to the midweek drubbing at Accrington when they face Morecambe this afternoon.
The Dons were thrashed 4-0 by their relegation rivals on Tuesday night, ending a run of three wins on the spin.
However, they are still four points clear of the drop zone with seven games remaining.
And boss Ardley has ordered his players to prove the defeat at the Fraser Eagle Stadium was just a blip.
He said: "We need to show a reaction after Tuesday night's defeat to Accrington. We've been generally good in six-pointers, but that performance was off-colour.
"We've been on a good run since the turn of the year and have only lost four of the last 16 games, but we always knew we would have a blip.
“We have to try and regroup and go into the Morecambe game and hopefully get a positive result.”
He added: "I think 50 points should be enough to stay up. We want to get there as soon as possible, so we need to get going over the next two or three games or it could be a nervy finish. We don't want it to go down to the wire.
"I think Dagenham and Rochdale are almost safe, so anyone from us down could be dragged into it. We are top of that group but you never know what could happen.”
