NEAL Ardley has revealed defender Warren Cummings missed AFC Wimbledon's pre-season friendly draw at Dartford for personal reasons.

The former Bournemouth full-back's future at Kingsmeadow is in doubt, with the Scot falling further down the pecking order following the arrival of Callum Kennedy.

The 32-year-old's absence at Princes Park fuelled speculation that he could be on his way out of KT1.

“Warren's got a few personal things going on,” explained boss Ardley. “We'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

“He didn't want to play and take up a place that one of the young lads could benefit from.

“I think [a pay-off] is something that might be spoken about. I get on really well with Warren and I wouldn't want him to be unhappy if he wasn't playing.

“We'll see as a club what happens. It's down to the club and Warren to finalise if they did want to do something.”
