TERRY Brown was delighted to end AFC Wimbledon’s debut season in League Two with a win.

The Dons boss watched his side put in a superb second-half display against Shrewsbury this afternoon as Luke Moore netted twice and Byron Harrison was on target in the 3-1 victory.

Brown had endured a disappointing day out at Barnet last weekend as Wimbledon were hammered 4-0 by the Bees at Underhill.

And the Kingsmeadow chief emphasised the importance of finishing the season on a high as the Dons now enter the summer break.

“I’m delighted with the way we rounded off the season,” said Brown. “Until today I remembered the Barnet game and it was a horror show I wanted to get that out of my mind.

“It was important to give ourselves a two-month breather where we’ve won a game. Our home form hasn’t been good enough this year, we want to get that right.

“Hand on heart, they [Shrewsbury] are a better side than us and we have to work harder to get a result. The goals we scored were fine, Seb made some brilliant saves otherwise it could’ve been a lot closer.”
