AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley is lining up a permanent deal for Bournemouth midfielder Jonathan Meades .

The Welsh youngster was a big hit on loan at Kingsmeadow this season, making 26 appearances, as the Dons escaped the drop on the final day.

Meades has yet to appear for the Cherries since his move from Cardiff last summer, but still has another 12 months remaining on his contract.

And Dons chief Ardley admits he would like to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

He said: “Jon's done very well for us. I wouldn't have brought him in if I didn't rate him.

“But these things are never easy. It can take four, five or six weeks to get a player over the line.”
