AFC WIMBLEDON will use pre-season to run the rule over a new goalkeeper to challenge first-choice Seb Brown .
The 22-year-old former Brentford youngster (pictured) made almost 50 appearances between the sticks in the club's debut season in the Football League.
Dons boss Terry Brown has allowed understudy Jack Turner to leave the club this summer and is on the lookout for a new challenger for the gloves.
The Kingsmeadow chief is relaxed about the recruitment drive for a new shot-stopper and insists the Dons are in a strong negotiating position.
He said: “We’re looking for an experienced keeper to push Seb if we can. We had a German boy in at a trial game here a few weeks ago and I’m having a chat with Paul Priddy, our goalkeeping coach, just to see where we are.
“The second goalie will probably be one that is invited into pre-season training and we’ll have a look then. The situation with goalies is different to any other area. There are loads and loads of goalkeepers struggling to find clubs. We’re in a decent position.”
AFC Wimbledon have already announced pre-season fixtures with Reading, Portsmouth and Bognor Regis for this summer.
