CLAYTON Donaldson hopes to spoil Crewe's party when Brentford travel to Gresty Road tonight.

The Bees striker returns to his former club for the first time since quitting The Alex for Griffin Park two years ago.

Donaldson watched on as his old team-mates clinched the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 2-0 win against Southend at Wembley on Sunday.

Crewe will display the trophy in front of their home fans, but Donaldson, who scored 50 goals during his stint in the North West, hopes the Bees can rain on their parade as they look to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

He said: “I had three great years at Crewe and it will always have a special place in my heart.

“I still look out for their results and watched the JPT win on TV.

“Hopefully they had plenty of alcohol to celebrate and we can take advantage!

“I haven't been back there since I left, so I'm looking forward to it.

“But I'm a Brentford player now, and although I respect them for what they did for my career, I'm just concentrating on getting the three points.”
