LONDON Broncos fan Mark Reynolds (pictutred) will have split loyalties when his side take on National One side Dewsbury Rams in the Challenge Cup next month.

For Reynolds grew up supporting the Yorkshire side, who Broncos drew in the fourth round this week, before moving to London a decade ago and starting to follow the Broncos.

The 51 year old cuts a familiar figure amongst the crowd at The Stoop as he always wears his Dewsbury Rams top – but admits he may have to change his wardrobe for the cup tie.

He said: “I grew up watching Dewsbury and still have a soft spot for them. I've been having some banter about the game with the lads who sit around me, but I think I'll have to change my shirt for this game.

“Dewsbury were champions back in the 1970s, and cup semi-finalists twice in the 1960s and 70s, but have fallen on hard times. They will give Broncos a game, but they will have done well if they keep it to within a 30-point defeat.

“It might be different if we still had former Super League star Nick Fozzard, who had to retire with a shoulder injury a couple of weeks ago – he would have taken on the Broncos front row.”

Before that, Broncos will be looking to get back on track in Super League following last weekend's 38-30 defeat at Widnes Vikings. They host another fellow struggler, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, at The Stoop tomorrow (5.45pm).

Meanwhile, former Broncos head coach Tony Gordon, who took charge of the team when they were called London Crusaders and playing at Barnet Copthall back in 1992, passed away this week following a long battle with illness.
