BRENTFORD have to be prepared to roll up their sleeves and fight at Gateshead tomorrow (Saturday).

So says Ryan Dickson, as the Bees bid to avoid crashing out of the FA Cup to non-league opposition for the second successive season.

Last time, Brentford avoided one banana skin at Havant & Waterlooville in the first round, but slipped on another at Barrow a stage later.

Dickson said: "It will be a horrible match up at Gateshead and we’ll have to be ready for a battle.

"We’ll have to go up there in a positive state of mind and win the mental battle first.

"It will be Gateshead’s cup final, and we will have to stand up and be strong or they will give us some real problems.

"It will be exactly the same as last season. Havant was a fight, but we won that one.

"We played Barrow in a swamp, but they won the fight that day."
