BRENTFORD midfielder David Hunt has joined Crawley Town on a month's loan with view to a permanent move.

Hunt has made more than 50 appearances for the Bees since arriving on a free transfer from Shrewsbury Town in 2009.

But the 28-year-old has managed just five appearances this season, and is behind Kevin O'Connor , Marcus Bean and Toumani Diagouraga in the pecking order for a spot in the Brentford engine room.

Reds manager Steve Evans said: "I am delighted we have David here, he is a player I have admired for some time.

"The lad will initially join us for a month's loan but if both parties are happy to make it a permanent deal then it can be done very quickly, Brentford have agreed to that pre-requisite from ourselves."

His deal at the Broadfield stadium runs until January 29 before the switch is made permanent at the end of the month.
