Roger Simmonds did not have the best of starts on his return to Hounslow & District Wheelers on Saturday
Back in Hounslow colours for the Farnborough & Camberley 25 after a few seasons with Scottish club Ross Shire Wheele rs,his warm-up was disrupted by a puncture.
Even so, he recovered to record a time of 1:00:49, which was enough to come second in the veterans' category.
The only Hounslow rider to finish ahead of him was Rob Gilmour who showed the benefit of a recent training week in Brittany by finishing in 58:14 mins. Other Hounslow riders to finish were Paul Innes (1:03:10) and Andy Gilles (1:08:09).
