THE ink is still drying on Carl Martin's contract at Crewe Alexandra, but that has not stopped Wealdstone from asking for Dario Gradi and Co's assistance in helping topple their League Two rivals Rotherham.

The club's chief scout Neil Baker and Stones boss Gordon Bartlett have a blossoming working relationship and Bartlett was soon on the phone to the Railwaymen after the FA Cup first round draw.

"Crewe have played Rotherham already this season and have sent me a DVD and dossier on them," said Bartlett.

"I went up there around the time they were looking at Carl and met up with plenty of people at the club. They are helping us out straight away, which is fantastic."
