CARLO Ancelotti has ruled out making a January move for want-away Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Tevez handed in a written transfer request to the Eastlands club last week and put Europe's elite on red alert with his demands to leave the title contenders.

But the Chelsea boss has poured cold water on a potential move for the forward and believes Tevez can still resolve his differences with the City hierarchy.

Ancelotti said: "There are a lot of rumours but I think that everything will be okay with him and Manchester City because he is a fantastic player. He is very important to City and I don't think they can afford to let him go."

The Argentina star had been scheduled to meet with City boss Roberto Mancini on Friday morning but the club were forced to put the the talks on hold following a delayed arrival back in Manchester after Thursday night's Europa League draw with Juventus .
